The color grading scale encompasses the letter grades D through Z. The colorless diamonds are DEF and the near colorless range from G through J. The higher the color of the diamond on the color grade chart the more rare the diamond. The exceptions to the grading scale are natural occurring fancy-colored diamonds. These come in colors such as yellows, pinks, reds, and browns to name a few.
