Carat Weight

A carat is the unit of measure for weighing a diamond. Weight is the most objective of the Four C’s as the diamond can be accurately measured on a scale. Weight ultimately affects the price of the diamond. The larger the carat weight, the higher the price.  Just as a point of reference, a 1 carat diamond is not twice as much as a ½ carat diamond and likewise, a two carat diamond can be more than twice the price of a 1 carat diamond.  The rarity and scarcity of the larger carat weight diamond, can substantially affect the price.
